A little old world for this crazy new world! These are classic, vintage (1990’s) Mottahedeh dessert plates in their discontinued ‘Summer Fruit’ pattern. The set of six plates includes: cherry, apple, plum, grape, raspberry, and pear. These plates are 8″ in diameter, have a salmon-colored embossed and scalloped rim and are perfect for summer pies and cobblers or dessert any time of the year. Of course, these plates could also serve double duty as a cheese plates, small brunch or luncheon plates, or for appetizers, as well- it’s a great and very versatile size. Though these plates are vintage, they are without chips, breaks, repairs or crazing.
Having been in business for 75 years, Mottahedeh holds licenses to make reproductions and adaptations from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Colonial Williamsburg, Winterthur, Monticello, Historic Charleston, Historic Natchez, and the National Trust. They have made china for the President, the State Department and for the Diplomatic Corps.
Mottahedeh makes the classics; time honored decorative accessories and tableware. Primarily the patterns are based on Chinese Export for the West, Early European and Chinese designs. What makes their products special are the unusual, elegant shapes, very clear beautiful materials, complex and vibrant colors with hand-painting mostly in gold, and that everything has a story.
